Degradation mechanism of TC using a-Bi2Mo3O12 as photocatalyst
This research reports obtaining the bismuth molybdate phase α-Bi2Mo3O12 by a microwave-assisted hydrothermal method using sustainable environmental conditions compared to the typical material synthesis by solid-state reaction. The α-Bi2Mo3O12 sample obtained by microwave assistance (BMO) was evaluated for the photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline (TC) using simulated sunlight and compared against the same phase obtained by the typical solid-state reaction (BSS). In this work, it is reported for the first time the preparation of CaBiVMoO88 coatings by the electrophoretic deposition route. The material exhibits absorption in the visible light region with a bandgap energy of 2.49 eV. In addition, the conduction and valence potentials were estimated at 0.07 and 2.56 eV, respectively.
